Our Mission

Rebuilding Together–Fredericksburg's (RTF) mission is to preserve and revitalize houses and communities,
assuring that low-income homeowners–from the elderly and disabled to
families with children–live in warmth, safety, and independence. In partnership with communities, our goal is to make a sustainable impact.

We make this impact through providing necessary repairs and improvements free of charge to existing homeowners. This necessary work often includes home modifications such as wheelchair ramps and grab bars and repairs to roofing, plumbing, and electrical systems. Our goal is to provide a warm, safe and dry environment for low-income
homeowners, enabling them to live independently
and with dignity.

Like many other Rebuilding Together affiliates, RTF provides year-round services. The cornerstone event for all Rebuilding Together affiliates is National Rebuilding Day,
typically held on the last Saturday in April. RTF selects between 30-35 sites and
plans and prepares rebuilding projects to be executed by volunteer groups all on National Rebuilding Day.

Rebuilding Together is headquartered in Washington, D.C. and promotes the creation and coordination of affiliates throughout the United States. Founded in 1988, the national office provides assistance to affiliates in program development, board and staff development, marketing, communications, and financial management. RTF has been an affiliate since 1993.
